How do I connect WhatsApp with a QR code or a phone number?
Updated October 13, 2026
QR linking is quick and works like WhatsApp Web, but it is an unofficial connection: WhatsApp may restrict the number, especially if you send many messages to numbers that do not know you. For long-term business use we recommend the official connection via Meta.
Link by scanning a QR code
- Open Channels → Channels, click Connect now on the WhatsApp card, then the Quick connect via QR tab.
- On your phone open WhatsApp → Settings → Linked devices → Link a device.
- Scan the code on the screen. It refreshes every 30 seconds, so scan it straight away.
Link with a phone number (no camera)
Useful when you open the dashboard on the same phone and cannot scan the code.
- Under the QR code click Link by phone number.
- Enter your number with the country code (for example +966XXXXXXXXX) and click Request verification code.
- On your phone: WhatsApp → Settings → Linked devices → Link a device → Link with phone number instead.
- Enter the code shown in the dashboard. You can ask for a new one after 30 seconds with Resend code.
What happens next?
The WhatsApp card shows Connected (QR). Keep the phone online and do not remove the linked device in WhatsApp, or the link drops. You can move to the official connection later with Upgrade to Official after disconnecting QR.
